Village of Elkhart Lake residents can find the latest information related to street maintenance, water usage and refuse collection to keep them updated on rates and services. Contact the Public Works Department at 920-876-2231 with questions about the following information.

WATER RATES
First 3000 cu. ft. per quarter – $1.84 per 100 cu. ft. + meter chg.
Next 17,000 cu. ft. per quarter – $1.59 per 100 cu. ft. + meter chg.
Next 30,000 cu. ft. per quarter – $1.29 per 100 cu. ft. + meter chg.
Over 50,000 cu. ft. per quarter – $0.99 per 100 cu. ft. + meter chg.

METER CHARGES
5/8″ meters – $17.10 per quarter
3/4″ meters – $17.10 per quarter
1″ meters – $21 per quarter
1 1/4″ meters – $27 per quarter
1 1/2″ meters – $33 per quarter
2″ meters – $54 per quarter
3″ meters – $99 per quarter
4″ meters – $150 per quarter

SEWER CHARGES
$3 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption beginning + $10 base fee per quarter. 1% penalty per month is assessed if paid after due date.

NEW SEWER CHARGES
WILL BEGIN DECEMBER 28TH, 2009
This will be reflected on your April 2010 billing.
$4.00 per 100 cubic feet of water consumption
beginning + $20.00 base fee per quarter.
PENALTY  — 1% Penalty per month if paid after due date.

REFUSE COLLECTION

Changes in 2010 rules for Trash Collection of ELECTRONICS,
more details will be available in January.

You must recycle or your refuse will be tagged and left. Clear bags must be used for garbage. Blue bags must be used for recyclables. Cardboard must be flattened and bundled or placed in brown paper bags for pick up.

ITEMS CAN BE IN BROWN PAPER BAGS, BUNDLED WITH STRING, OR PLACED IN A CARDBOARD BOX. (MUST NOT BE IN PLASTIC BAGS).

2-30 GALLON GARBAGE CAN WILL BE ALLOWED AT NO COST, ANY MORE THAN THIS MUST BE CALLED INTO LARRY’S HAULING AND PLACED IN A DUMPSTER & BILLED PER YARD. CONSTRUCTION ITEMS INCLUDE: 2X4’S, ROOFING, DRYWALL AND METAL.

FREON PICK UP

ITEM MUST BE CALLED IN TO LARRY’S HAULING AND WILL BE PICKED UP CURBSIDE ON YOUR SCHEDULED GARBAGE DAY AT NO COST. (ITEMS INCLUDE REFRIGERATORS, FREEZERS, & DEHUMIDIFERS)

COMPUTER ITEM MUST BE CALLED IN TO LARRY’S HAULING WITH YOUR NAME, ADDRESS, AND PHONE NUMBER FOR BILLING PURPOSES. THE COST IS $15.00. IT WILL BE PICKED UP CURBSIDE ON YOUR SCHEDULED GARBAGE DAY. OTHER COMPUTER COMPONENTS WILL BE PICKED UP AT NO COST.

WASTE OIL

A DRUM FOR COLLECTION OF WASTE OIL IS LOCATED AT THE VILLAGE GARAGE, 51 EAST MAPLE, ELKHART LAKE.

YARD WASTE

YARD WASTE, LEAVES/BRUSH/GARDEN DEBRIS ETC. WILL NOT BE PICKED UP CURBSIDE. A DUMPSTER WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE VILLAGE GARAGE FROM APRIL THRU OCTOBER. CURRENT HOURS ARE WEDNESDAY 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. and SATURDAY 8:30 A.M. to 3 P.M. This is for yard waste only, not lake waste!

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY NEWS – THE FIRST WASTE MEDICATION DROP OFF BOX IS NOW IN PLACE –LOCATED IN THE CITY OF SHEBOYGAN POLICE DEPARTMENT AT 1315 NORTH 23RD STREET.  Please keep your medications in their original labeled containers to aid in identification of the collected medications.  Names can be crossed off the label to maintain confidentiality.

Senior Citizen Yard Waste Pickup
The pickup of branches or yard waste for senior citizens is the last Monday of each month. Call the garage at 876-2231 and leave a message if you desire this service. There is a limit of twenty bags per month with a maximum weight of 50 pounds each. Bags overfilled to the point of tearing will be left. Brush will be limited to a pickup truck full per month.
