Lend a hand to help create flavorful jams and jellies as they were made more than 150 years ago. The event represents a throwback to the stagecoach inn’s own history. Early to mid August is exactly the time of year that the Wade House household staff would have been busy preserving fruits that were ripening. The inn’s historic cook will be making jams and jellies from raspberries picked on the Wade House grounds. She’ll be using a 19th-century recipe and sealing the jars with brandy-soaked paper rounds and five layers of tissue paper. 10am to 5pm.
